Jib Sock

A jib sock is hoisted over a furled headsail to reduce direct UV and weather exposure while the sail is stowed. It can be considered as an alternative to a sacrificial UV strip on the leech and foot. Correct length, diameter, tensioning and rigging are important so the sock fits securely and limits movement.
