The FiberPath Series

FiberPath is Ullman Sails’ custom string-laminate racing range. Fibre paths are placed to follow the expected loads of the individual sail, while fibre blends and external skins are selected for the boat, racing programme and required balance of weight, stretch resistance, handling and abrasion protection.

FiberPath combines a custom string layout with a laminated structure. Ullman describes Regatta and Grand Prix configurations with different fibre and external skin options. Exact materials and finishing vary and are recorded in the final specification for the individual sail.

Durability and Handling

FiberPath construction is selected to balance load management, weight, handling and protection. No material choice removes the need for correct use, inspection, cleaning, dry storage and timely professional service.

High-pressure lamination

Ullman describes a high-pressure, high-heat process for combining the fibre layout and laminate. Service life still depends on use, handling and exposure.

Load-path fibre mapping

Custom string paths are arranged around calculated sail loads to support shape control without claiming identical performance on every boat.

Fibre selection

Carbon, aramid and blended layouts have different stretch, weight, flex and durability characteristics; the selected specification depends on the programme.

Protective skin options

Film, taffeta and non-woven textile options change weight, handling and surface protection. Availability differs between FiberPath configurations.

Sail-specific finishing

Regatta or Grand Prix

Select the FiberPath configuration with the loft according to boat size, racing level, load case and handling priorities.

Fibre specification

Carbon, aramid or a specified blend is chosen to suit the required balance of stretch resistance, weight, flex and durability.

External skin

Film, taffeta or non-woven textile surfaces may be specified where offered for the selected FiberPath construction.

Luff system

Slides, bolt ropes, headstay systems and related reinforcement are matched to the rig and the way the sail will be handled.

Batten configuration

Batten number, material, receptacles and tensioning are specified for the sail design and applicable class rules.

Reefing and hardware

Reefs, rings, webbing and attachment hardware are included only where required by the quoted specification.

Regatta

Custom string-laminate sails available with carbon, aramid or specified blends and film, taffeta or non-woven surface options, subject to the final specification.
